Baobab is a tree that thrives in hot, dry savannah. In its native areas it has various uses, but its fruit has become popular worldwide for its flavour and nutritional richness. Our primary supplier is a Baobab researcher with a vision of promoting Baobab conservation and improving livelihoods in rural communities. She now supports upto 1500 rural women in Southern Africa who harvest baobab fruit. Baobab is produced with minimal processing. The dry fruit is harvested, and fruit pulp is separated from the skin and seed. This is then milled into powder and sieved. Baobab is high in Vitamin C, which helps to support the immune system and maintain strong bones and teeth.
